Re-engineering involves examining all processes for potential improvement
Re-engineering involves examining all processes for potential improvement. It requires an analysis to determine the core competencies of the internal resources. As a result, tasks can be assigned for those internal functions and allow other functions to be evaluated for potential outsourcing. Rightsourcing is the assignment of resources to maximize efficiency. There are a few guidelines that are essential to the process:
- Outsourcing a service is not necessarily the best solution.
- Companies need to ensure that skills that are critical to the organization are maintained in-house.
- Dynamic facilities organizations need to carefully consider investments in skills, tools, or equipment which the commercial sector provides to companies on a more cost-effective basis.
